Marimbas are a type of musical instrument originally developed in western Africa. They use wooden 'keys' which are tuned to specific notes similar to a xylophone.

We designed and constructed 7 marimbas for use by the music teacher at KVR Middle School. She was using these to teach up to 5 classes per day during the school year.

The next phase of this project is to construct the long tube resonators that amplify and enhance the sound.
